Akshay Kumar and Deepika Padukone have gone to great lengths to look Chinese in Chandni Chowk To China. But Bollywood has done the Oriental look before. Sridevi looked like a pretty Chinese in a Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja song, while Chunky Pandey’s Nepali act in Apna Sapna Money Money got him some more fans.We Take a look at some of the best oriental characters, Bollywood style.

Sridevi put in a Chinese look in Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja’s song Chai Mein Chini, where she hopes to rob a party before Anil Kapoor does. Very unrecognisable, eh?

Helen thrilled the audiences when she danced to Mera naam chin chin choo in Howrah Bridge.

Asha Parekh may not have put on a Japanese face, but she looked beautiful in a kimono in the song, Sayonara from the film Love in Tokyo.

Aamir Khan put on various get-ups in his Coke commercials, one of them being a Nepali, who loves his Coke.

In a good comeback role, Chunky Pandey played a Nepali gurkha in Apna Sapna Money Money, and won some praise for his act.

Way back in 1975, Madan Puri played the lovestruck Mr Wong in Saazish very well. But this was not his Chinese role. Before that, in 1970, Madan Puri played a villian-ish Chinese in Prem Pujari.

Check out what others are saying about this post...[...] Aamir wasn’t an awards boycotter earlier. In fact, he was a regular at the Filmfare awards, the only popular award function back then. But then the 1992 awards night changed it all for him. His Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikander though nominated in almost all the categories ended up winning only one award. Also his much deserved best actor award went to Anil Kapoor for Beta. Industrywalas till date debate whether Kapoor had purchased the award. Aamir stopped attending Filmfare Awards from then on. But as fences were about to mended between the publication house behind Filmfare and Aamir, came the final blow in 1996. His wildly popular Rangeela act was overlooked and SRK was awarded the best actor for DDLJ. That did it for Aamir and he began his mission boycott which continues till date. [...]
